Mary Ann Gray Cordon was one of thirteen children born to the late James Gray, Sr. and Loretta Gray of North Carolina.

She departed this life on June 14, 2020 surrounded by those whom she loved dearly. As an adult she moved to New York where she attended college and began working for AT& T now known as Verizon. She worked there for thirty-eight years, from 1964 to 2001. After retiring from Verizon, she went to work for Cypress Cemetery for approximately five (5) years where she later became a Board member until her health prevented her.

She loved travelling and shopping. Mary was considered a very classy lady and she carried herself as such. She enjoyed helping friends and family when ever she could.

Mary leaves her ex-husband, William E Cordon, daughters' Cecilia B. Scott (Vincent Scott) and Felicia Butts, sisters Shelia Keys, Cynthia Gray, Anita Thompson, Diane Agosto, Betty Jean Gray, Rebecca Whitaker, brothers Kenneth Gray and Calvin Nathaniel. Mary was predeceased by her siblings James Gray, Jr., Samuel Gray, Dale Gray, Rudolph Gray, and Wilma Gray.

The home going celebration will be held 11:00 am, Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake.
