Chesapeake - Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, niece, aunt and cousin, Mary Edd Harris, departed her earthly home on January 30, 2007. Born to Edward and Everlina Bonds, Mary spent her early years in Edenton, North Carolina. The family moved to Virginia with Mary settling in the Portlock Section of Chesapeake.



Mary leaves to cherish her memories, her loving husband of 55 years, Vernon Harris of Chesapeake, sons, George Hines (Hazel) of Chesapeake, Tony Blackless (Robin) of Philadelphia; daughters, Mary Fugerson, of Norfolk, Evelyn Spruill and Willving "Elaine" Ghee (Ernest) of Chesapeake, aunt, Mary Wright of Edenton, NC, niece, Laverne Jones and devoted cousin, Roanna Elliott both of Norfolk, sixteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.



A funeral service will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church Campostella. Interment will follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will be held Friday from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake.
