Chesapeake - Mary Artis Lewis, 96, of the 2500 block of Strawberry Lane, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday Jan. 13, 2016. Born in Capron, VA. to the late John and Leolia Artis. She was a member of First Baptist Church for over 85 years. She was predeceased by four brothers and six sisters. Left to cherish her memory are four daughters, Helen Sellers, Joyce Mason (James), Brenda Epps, Carrodena Johnson, and an adoptive daughter, Kathyrn Hines; one brother, Herbert Artis, and a stepbrother, Sylvester Artis, as well as a host of other family and friends.

Viewing will be on Monday, January 18, 3-7 pm at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake,VA with funeral services at First Baptist Church Money Point, 439 Freeman Avenue, Chesapeake, VA on Tuesday, January 19 at 12 pm.
