Obituary
New York- Mary Mullen, 91, of the 700 block Macon Street, Brooklyn, New York departed this life October 6, 2011. Born April 30, 1920 in Camden, North Carolina, she was employed as seamstress until her retirement.
She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Rosa Mullen, and her sisters, Marion Grant and Helen Cheeks. Survivors include, one sister, Claudine Bishop (Joseph) of Chesapeake, one niece, Marion Grant of Norfolk; two great nieces, Aisha Davis of Portsmouth, and Brittney Beagle of South Carolina, and one great-great niece; her caregiver and domestic partner, Edward "Eddie" Henderson, of Brooklyn, New York; two Godsons, Roscoe C. Pretlow (Esther) of Chesapeake and E. Marce Mason, Jr. (Maribel) of Port St. Lucie, Florida and a host of cousins and friends.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph AME Church, 1540 Atlantic Avenue, Chesapeake. Interment will follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park. Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake is in charge of arrangement. Condolences maybe offered to the family at www.pretlowandsons.
