Chesapeake - Mary Jenkins Spellman, 97, passed away peacefully October 8, 2007, in Autumn Care. Born in Norfolk, Virginia, she was the widow of Robert Spellman. She was a lifelong member of First Trinity AME Church.



Mary is survived by her only daughter, Shirley L. Robertson and her only grandson, Keith Robertson (Linda); three great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.



A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Monday at First Trinity AME Church, 1301 Elco Street, Chesapeake. Interment will follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Viewing will be held Sunday from noon until 4 pm at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake. The family will receive guest at her daughter's home, and will assemble there at noon for the procession to the church.
