Obituary
Mary Alice Phillips Swain, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2018 in Chesapeake, Virginia following a brief illness. She was predeceased by her husband, John B. Swain. Mary Alice Phillips was born in August of 1933 in Windsor, North Carolina to Christopher Columbus and Voidy Watson Phillips.
She is survived by daughters Cynthia Swain Cummings, Vanester Swain Hardison and Jewel Swain Scott.
A public viewing will begin at 10am prior to the Homegoing Service at 11am on Thursday, March 15, 2018, at New Hope COGIC, 3232 Brest Ave, Norfolk. Internment will immediately follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park, 1101 Campostella Rd, Chesapeake. Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.pretlowandsons.com.
