Maurice C. Brinkley, 91, passed away on February 7, 2017 in his home in Virginia Beach.  He was born in Roduca, NC on December 5, 1925; but was raised in Norfolk, VA. His parents were the late Joe and Alverta Hunter Brinkley. He was predeceased by his sister, Mamie Brinkley Glover. Also, he was married to his "Ace", the late Deloris Linear Brinkley.

He retired from the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier. In August, 1952, he was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. At his death, he was a member of the Chesapeake, VA, South Norfolk Congregation, where he served as an elder and a regular pioneer. He is survived by his daughter, Elaine Miller and her husband Walter Miller, and a host of relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 12 noon, Friday, February 10, 2017 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 681 Oak Grove Road, Chesapeake, VA. Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home are handling the arrangements.
