Melvin C. Fallis Jr., beloved husband, father, brother, and uncle, was called to his eternal resting
place on February 17,2023. He entered this world on November 3, 1942, in Norfolk, VA, born to Melvin
and Virginia Fallis. He is survived by his wife,Sheron Banks-Fallis; son Melvin J. Fallis; sister Cynthia
Fallis; niece Kimberly Fallis (Randy); four sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, and a host of Memphis nieces,
nephews, and family.
Melvin served faithfully at the Norris Avenue Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Rickey L.
Dugger. Melvin graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1961 and attended Norfolk State University and
Dartmouth College, Amos Tuck Graduate School of Business. There, he obtained his MBA and was the Second African
American graduate in the school's history. During Mel's 60+ business career, he held many executive positions.
Melvin's latest role was as a Financial Associate of Thrivent Financial Services.
A public viewing will be held Friday, March 3, 2023, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Harrison's Memorial Chapel, Inc.,
3320 Millbranch Rd., Memphis, TN 38116. Services for Mr. Fallis will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at 11:00 AM
at Norris Avenue Missionary Baptist Church, 1437 Norris Rd. - Memphis, TN 38106. A graveside service will be held at
Roosevelt Memorial Park, 1101 Campostella Rd., Chesapeake,VA 23320 on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at 11:00 AM.
