Chesapeake – Melvine Lamb Williams of the 200 block of Coachman Drive departed this life January 30, 2011. Born in Norfolk, she was employed with Norfolk Community Hospital for over 25 years until she retired in 1984. She was a member of First Baptist South Hill.
She is predeceased by her daughter, Gretchen Mullen and her son Edward Williams, Jr. Survivors include her husband, Timothy Williams Sr.; two daughters, Anita Golden (Ray) and Patricia Shorter of Chesapeake; four sons, Cedric M. Williams of Virginia Beach, Tracy O. Williams of Maryland, Timothy Williams Jr. (Desiree) of Chesapeake and Howard Williams (Wanda) of Maryland; one sister, Thelda Harris (David) of Hampton; a sister-in-law, Mary Lamb of Texas, eleven grand children and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral service will be held 1pm Friday at First Baptist Church South Hill. Interment will follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will be held Thursday from 3pm – 7pm at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake. You may offer condolences to the family at www.pretlowandsons.com.
