Norfolk – Michael L. Winder, 59, of the 3500 block of Riverside Drive, went home to be with the Lord September 24, 2009. A native of Norfolk, he was the son of the late William and Alean Winder.

He is survived by his son, Michael Clemons; five grandchildren; one brother, William Winder (Sandra) of Columbus, GA; four sisters, Carolyn Mercer, Magdalene Eborn, Clotelia Lawrence (Herbert) and Kathleen Brooks (Edward); sister-in-law, Shirley Winder; four aunts, Sarah Snowden, Carrie Guisburg, Ethel Winder and Bernice Winder; an adopted sister, Elsie Smith; an adopted aunt, Rosa Smith, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved him very much.

A celebration of life will be held at New Macedonia U.C.C, 1426 Marshall and Jamaica Avenue, Wednesday at 12:00 pm. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Viewing will be held Tuesday 2pm – 7 pm at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake.
