Obituary
Chesapeake – Mildred B. Spruill, 100, of the 2000 block of Christian Ave. departed this life on March 26, 2014. She was employed with the Norfolk Public School System for 32 years until her retirement.
She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church Berkley where she sang in the First Friendship Choir. She was also a member of the Southside Civic League and a member of the Security Block Watch.
She is predeceased by her husband; Essex Spruill Jr. Survivors include her son, Michael Spruill of Chesapeake, and a host of grandchild, other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held noon Tuesday at First Baptist Church Berkley. Interment will follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will be held from 2-6pm Monday at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake. Condolences can be offered to the family at www.pretlowandsons.com.
