Virginia Beach- Milton Shearin,68, passed suddenly and unexpectedly Wednesday, August 7, 2013. He was born in Liberty Park area of Norfolk, VA to the late Vern Mark and Elma Harrison Shearin. Milt graduated from Carver High School, Chesapeake in 1962 and attended Norfolk State University. He retired from the US Postal Service in July 2005, after more than 37 years of service.
He was a member of First Baptist Church, Campostella, where he served for many years in the Trustee, Male Ushers and Transportation ministries.
He is survived by his daughter, Angela Michele Shearin, and son, Dr. Anthony Michael Shearin, a sister, Dr. Margaret Shearin Bell, and a brother-in-law, Alonzo Bell, Sr., two nephews, one niece, three grandnieces and a host of dear relatives and friends.
The Shearin Family will receive friends and relatives Friday, August 16, 2013 at First Baptist Church Campostella, 1510 Conoga St., Norfolk, VA from 3-7 pm. The home going celebration will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at First Baptist Church Campostella. Interment will follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park. Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake is in charge of arrangements.
