Virginia Beach - Monalisa Simons Thomas, 48 of the 4600 block of Greenlaw Drive was called home to be with the Lord November 9, 2007. Born in Chesapeake, she served in the United States Army for 20 years until her retirement. She was a member of New Weeping Mary Baptist Church.



She is predeceased by her husband, Alvin Thomas, father, Richard O. Simons and sister, Deborah A. Anderson. Survivors include her mother, Helen D. Simons of Chesapeake; two step daughters and one stepson; three sisters, Teresa A. Anderson of Philadelphia, Glenda L. Simons and Jacqueline Simons of Chesapeake; two brothers, William Anderson (Joyce) of Chesapeake and Ronnie N. Anderson (Barbara) of Portsmouth, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.



A funeral service will be held 1:30 pm Thursday at New Weeping Mary Baptist Church. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Viewing will be held 2pm-7pm Wednesday at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake.
