Norfolk – Oner Brewer, Sr., a native of Norfolk, Virginia, died quietly on April 19, 2009, at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. He was predeceased by his parents Hazel and Viola Brewer; two sons, Oner Brewer, Jr., and Orlando Brewer; and one grandson, Darius Manifold. Mr. Brewer was a graduate of Virginia State College, Petersburg, VA, and a World War II veteran. He was a longtime employee of the U.S. Postal Service in Norfolk before moving to New York State. He became a resident of Syracuse, New York and retired from the New York Public Employees Federation –AFL-CIO.

He is survived by two daughters, Demetria Manifold (Roderick) of Palymra, VA, and Carlotta Grinage of Suitland, MD; six grandchildren, Christopher Brewer (Zina), Lisa Lowe (Gregory), Nadia Manifold, Devon Manifold, Nigel Manifold , and Natalie Brewer; four great grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.
