Chesapeake – Mrs. Pennie L. Lawrimore, of the 2000 block of Ballahack Road was called home to rest on Monday, January 17, 2011. Born in Norfolk County, she was a dedicated, longtime member of Bethel Baptist Church, where she attended faithfully until her illness.

Pennie was predeceased by her husband, Edward Lawrimore, Sr., daughter, Mattie Lawrimore Hopkins, and parents, Robert and Pauline Nixon. She is survived by four sons, Edward Lawrimore Jr. (Sheryl) of Norfolk, Jerry Lawrimore, Larry Lawrimore and Michael Lawrimore of Chesapeake; one daughter, Dorothy Lawrimore of Vienna, Va.; one sister, Pauline Smith of Chesapeake, five grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held Saturday at 1:30 pm at Bethel Baptist Church. Interment will follow at the Nixon Family Cemetery. Viewing will be held Friday from 3pm – 7pm at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake. You may offer condolences to the family at www.petlowandsons.com .
