Chesapeake - Reginald B. Brickhouse of the 900 block of Westgate Court, died on Friday, February 29, 2008. Born in South Norfolk on November 12, 1918, he was the son of the late Charles and Martha Moore Brickhouse, and the widower of Dora Forbes Brickhouse.



Reginald Brickhouse attended Booker T. Washington High School. He was married to Minnie Marie Riddick. From this union they had two sons, Reginald Barnes Brickhouse, Jr., who is deceased, and Emueal Talemage Brickhouse. He also had another son, Arcelius Brickhouse. Reginald later married Dora Forbes Brickhouse. They were married for 59 years.



He served in the Army of the United States. Reginald was a Supply Clerk in the South Pacific, handling enlisted men?s clothing and equipment. He was in battles and campaigns in New Guinea, South Philippines (Liberation) and Luzon. While serving in the Army he received several decorations and citations, The American Theater Campaign Medal; Asiatic Pacific Theater Campaign Medal with three Bronze Service Stars; Philippine Liberation Ribbon with one Bronze Service Star, and World War II Victory Medal.



Reginald Brickhouse was employed fro many years by the Department of the Navy, retiring on September 22, 1979.



Two sons survive Reginald, Emueal (Bobby) Brickhouse, his wife, Maria, and Arcelius Brickhouse, his wife, Mildred, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends.



A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday in the chapel of Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake. Interment will follow at Albert G. Horton, Jr., Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk. Viewing will be held 2pm - 7pm Thursday at the funeral home.
