IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Reginald B.
Clark
March 10, 1931 – April 7, 2020
On Tuesday April 7, 2020 at the age of 89, while sleeping peacefully at his home in Portsmouth VA. the Lord ever so gently took Reginald's hand and called him home.
Reginald B. Clark, son, brother, and uncle was born to Herman and Everlena Clark on March 10, 1931. He was one of ten children and was affectionally called "Red". He was educated in the Norfolk Public School System, and then went on to work and retire from Lonestar Cement Company and Portsmouth Public Schools.
Reginald attended St Thomas A M E Zion Church in Norfolk, VA and was a loyal member.
Reginald B. Clark, affectionately called Uncle Red by numerous nieces, nephews and friends had no children of his own but he cared about his nieces and nephews as if they were his own. He was cherished as a loving uncle and as we embraced him upon leaving from a visit he would say "take care of yourself and if you need anything call me."
Uncle Red was soft spoken, thoughtful easy to be around and very engaging, especially to young people. He was a good person and well respected. Young men looked up to him because of his positive attitude, his wisdom, his willingness to listen and to help.
Let's not forget that Uncle Red was a dapper man, stylish in dress with a hat to match.
Now let's talk about his relationship with God, you would hear him praying for his family members, alive or deceased, especially his mother and father. He knew God's word, he trusted God's word so when his brother died he knew it was his place to care for his brothers family, so without hesitation, without complaint he took care of them as if they were his own. Uncle Red had a big heart and family meant everything to him.
Reginald was predeceased by his parents, Herman and Everlena Clark and eight brothers. Left to cherish his memory are his sister, Audrey James; two sister-in-laws Edna Clark and Millicent Clark and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces, great nephews, relatives and friends, and especially his devoted caregiver, Melvina Tyler.
The funeral service and burial will be private due to the gathering restrictions in place because of COVID-19.
