Reynaurd Orlando Lewis Sr., 72, of Norfolk, Virginia quietly slipped away into eternal rest on Wednesday October 15, 2025. Reynaurd was born on November 8,1952 in Norfolk, VA. to the late Helen Lewis Sellers and the late Paul Daniels.
Reynaurd was a graduate of Norview High School class of 1971. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. He served in Okinawa, Italy and California. After being honorably discharged, he returned to Norfolk and attended Norfolk State University and worked as a Civil Service Worker at the Norfolk Naval Base. Although, a quiet person by nature, he was a people person. Reynaurd loved to party, listen to music and dance. His home was the gathering place for his friends for many years. He also loved watching sports, especially Norfolk State football and basketball games, and attending CIAA and MEAC tournaments.
Reynaurd was preceded in death by his mother Helen Lewis Sellers, father Paul Daniels and stepfather Clarence E. Sellers. He leaves to cherish many memories his two sons Reynaurd Lewis Jr., of Norfolk, Virginia and Deontia Evans of Suffolk, Virginia, two bonus children Ja'Net Lewis and Darius Lewis Sr., both of Norfolk Virginia, one sister Maria Lewis of Chesapeake, Virginia, three aunts, Joyce Mason of Chesapeake, Virginia, Carrodena Johnson of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Kathyrn Hines of Norfolk Virginia, four grandchildren D'Quan Lynch (Crystal), Reynaurd Lewis III, Reginald Lewis (Chelsie), Ziyad Barns, ten bonus grandchildren Tae'Jahon Lewis, Tyiea Baxter, Tyeontae Baxter, Le'Saun Baxter, Darius Lewis Jr., De' Asia Hines, Journei Newson, A'niyla Lewis, Da Marqius Wiggins and Malaysia Warren, three great grandchildren Lyric Lynch, Lorenzo Lynch and Harmony Lynch, eight bonus great grandchildren Wyleek Lewis, Jahliyah Lewis, Karter Baxter, Ne'Chur Swain, Tru'Cimone Davis, Ramel Davis, Taylen SoSo,and Iy'brii Payton. A special cousin DeRue Heard. Reynaurd also leaves a longtime friend Nathaniel Morris (Spirit) and host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held 12:00 pm on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, 500 Liberty Street, Chesapeake. Interment will follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will be from 5pm until 7pm on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at the funeral home.
