Portsmouth – Richard Carter Leigh, 52, of the 3500 block of Commonwealth Place passed away August 18, 2009 at his residence. Born in Norfolk, Richard was a graduate of Shelton State Technical College in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and was employed by Lindel Electric Company in Chesapeake.

Richard was preceded in death by his mother, Thelma Wilson, and his brother, Carl Wilson. He is survived by one son, Joshua Leigh of Chesapeake; three daughters, Stacy Leigh and Amanda Leigh of Chesapeake, and Jennifer Steele (Timothy) of Portsmouth; six grandchildren, Morgan Hammond, Michael Leigh, Tyler Steele, Dashaun Hardwick, Ryan Steele and Natasha Leigh; one brother, Robert Wilson of Jacksonville, NC; two nieces, Angelica and Jennifer of Jacksonville, NC; one nephew, Gerald of Jacksonville, NC., and a host of other relatives and friends.
