Virginia Beach – Rita Yvonne Wilson Person – mother, grandmother, sister, and caring friend, 58, of the 800 block of Liberal Arts Court, passed away Monday, January 11, 2010 after a short illness. Born October 16, 1951 in the Berkley section of Norfolk, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Horace Sutton and the late Carlyse Wilson Casey.

Survivors include three daughters, Anissa Person Bowden, Jenovia Person, and Edrita Mills, and a son, Darrell Person; grandchildren, Janica Person, Erica Person, Riana Person, and Jordan Bowden; two brothers, Wyman Duke and Avilla Casey; and a sister, Carmela Casey and a special friend, Rosetta Richardson and a host of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by a brother, Aulton Wilson.

Rita was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed playing bingo, taking care of children, playing board games with her family, and traveling. She especially enjoyed her visits to Las Vegas, Nevada and the Grand Canyon, and she loved living abroad in Germany and cherished the years she spent touring Europe. She leaves her family with fond memories of delightful vacations, interesting conversations, and special holidays filled with love, laughter, and delicious food.
