Rodney Bernard Riddick was born on February 11, 1969 to wonderful parents Rayfield and Wanda Riddick. On October 28, 2016 after a long illness, God called Rodney to his heavenly home.
Rodney was a six-year veteran of the United States Navy. He resided in Chesapeake and worked for the Defense Logistic Agency in Norfolk, Virginia. He accepted Christ info his life and was a member of the Rose of Sharon United Holiness Church under the leadership of Pastor Antonio Gardner, Sr.
He leaves to cherish his memories, parents Rayfield and Wanda Riddick, two sons, Deaunte Saurden and Tarique McKinney, brother, Xavier Riddick, and grandmother, Mable Griffin all of Chesapeake, Virginia; two nieces, Jasmine Riddick and Jakayla Barnes, both of Florida; one nephew, Jeremiah Riddick of Norfolk; a godson, London Griffin; a special sister, Angela Davis; his second mother, Evelyn Griffin; special brothers, Herbert Griffin and Quincey Griffin; a special friend, Angela Thorne, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday at New Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, 1765 S Military Hwy, Chesapeake. Interment will follow at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, 1510 Milners Road, Suffolk. Viewing will be held from 4pm until 7pm Thursday at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake.
