Chesapeake - Ronnie Lewis Jones Sr. was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 18, 2017. He was born on January 11, 1952 to Matthew and Elsie Jones. He served in the United States Army doing a tour of duty in the Vietnam War. He earned the rank of Sergeant First Class, and served as a Drill Sergeant while stationed at Fort Story Airborne 80 ^th Division. Ronnie was employed at the Norfolk Naval Base as a motor vehicle operator. He was a longtime member of Calvary Revival Church, where he served in the parking lot ministry.

Ronnie was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He loved his family dearly and was a compassionate man of God. He would help anyone in need showing them kindness, and telling them how good God is in his daily life. He will be missed dearly, but his memory and legacy will live on in the lives in touched.

Ronnie leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 30 years Darlene Veronica Jones; two daughters, Kisa Danyale Jones, and La'Veon De'Shon Jones-McCallon;  five sons, Garry F. West Jr., Ronnie L. Jones Jr., Kirk A. Jones, Corey U.G. Jones, and Kobe B.M. Jones; one brother, Matthew Lee Jones; niece, Dawn Jones; father-in-law, Roosevelt Hicks and mother-in-law, Shirley Hicks; brothers-in-law, Ricardo Hicks, Kevin Hicks and Reginald Hicks; sisters-in-law, Sabrina Jemmott, Pamela Brown, Patrica Brown, and Cleo Edwards; and a host of grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at Calvary Revival Church, 5833 Poplar Hall Dr, Norfolk. Viewing will be held from 4-7pm on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, 500 Liberty Street, Chesapeake.
