Obituary
Roosevelt Alexander made peace with God on Tuesday, October 12, 2010.
On May 4, 1936, Roosevelt was born to the late Suzie Hamlin Alexander Brooks and Kirk Alexander. He was educated in Chesapeake and Norfolk Public Schools.
When Roosevelt wasn't riding his bike on the go, you could find Roosevelt at the library reading book after book. And when he wasn't doing that he was somewhere singing and joking with family and friends.
He leaves to cherish his wife, Caroline Alexander, one daughter, Lavern Sivels (Terry), 3 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren, a special niece Lucille Harper and host of nieces and nephews and one sister-in-law Shirley Alexander.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 16, 2010 at New Greater Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, 5375 Blackwater Loop, Virginia Beach. Interment will follow at Carver Cemetery, Suffolk. Viewing will be held Friday from 3pm - 7 pm at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake. We invite you to send a condolence message in the family's guestbook at www.pretlowandsons.com.
