Chesapeake - Rosa A. Forrest, 70, departed this life October 20, 2007. She retired from Portsmouth General Hospital as a ward secretary, a member of the Truxton Chapter No. 63 Eastern Star, and a founding member and church clerk of FFCBC, Portsmouth.
Her survivors include her husband, James E. Forrest; daughters, Connie McDonald (James) and Valerie Garrett (David); four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; mother-in-law, Leora Forrest; four sisters, Frances Crump, Margie Mosley, Nellie Buckholtz and Annette Anderson; one brother, Hugh Anderson; four sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Nellie Anderson, four brothers, three sisters, and her father-in-law, William Forrest.
A celebration of life will be held noon Thursday in the chapel of Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake. Interment will follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will be held 2pm - 7pm Wednesday at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 5pm - 7 pm.
