On Wednesday, April 24, 2024, Rosa Mae Lawrence, 90, was called peacefully into eternal rest. She was born on May 2, 1933, in North Carolina. Rosa was employed as a housekeeper for over 30 years until her retirement.

Rosa loved to shop at the thrift store or what she like to call it "the junkyard." She enjoyed cooking and eating and was always giving things away and refusing to take anything in return. She enjoyed life, she had a silly personality, and she loved James Brown. But most of all, she always encouraged others to put faith into God.

Rosa is survived by four children, Clara Brooks, Linda Lawrence, John Henry Lawrence, Sharon Wynn, and preceded in death by one child Innestine Sadler. She also is survived by twenty-nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held 1:00 pm Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake.
