Obituary
Chesapeake – Rosa Lee Turner, 82, of the 100 block of Kegman Road West departed this life January 13, 2014.
She worked at New York City Hospital and King County Hospital for 23 years, and at Chesapeake General Hospital for 20 years until her retirement. She was a longtime member of Gordon Chapel A.M.E. Church, where she served on the Steward and Trustee Boards.
She is predeceased by her husband, Charlie Turner, Sr., her son, Charlie Turner, Jr. and her brother, John Wilson. Survivors include her sister, Cora E. Wilson; nephews who were more like her sons, Robert Wilson (Peaches), Augustus Williams (Mildred), Melvin Williams (Sarah); her niece who was like her daughter, Mary Ann Wilson (John) and a host nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday at Gordon Chapel A.M.E. Church. Interment will follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will be from 3-7pm Thursday at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake. Condolences can be offered to the family at www.pretlowandasons.com.
