Norfolk, Virginia - Rosa Deloris Wynn White, age 96 heard the voice of the Lord calling her to come home on Saturday, December 20, 2014, at Sentara Nursing Home. Born April 22, 1918 to the late James and Louise Wynn. She was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Lennie L. White, Jr., sister, Annie E. Wynn, brother, Rev. Otis James Wynn and a
sister-in-law, Pauline Childers Wynn.

She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1938 and Elizabeth City College, NC, with a B.S. Degree in Education in 1943. She also received her Master of Arts Degree from Columbia University, NY in 1952. She taught in Norfolk Public Schools for many years. She was a Past Matron of Dorcas Chapter #50, Order of the Eastern Star, PHA.

Rosa was a lifelong, dedicated member of First Baptist Church Campostella. She was a member of the choir and Choir Union #4. She was a Deaconess and served in other leadership positions in the Church.

She leaves to cherish fond memories, a son, Lennie L. White, III, two devoted cousins, Myra Perry Barnes and Francine Wynn Hightower; and a host of relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 29, 2014 at First Baptist Church Campostella, 1510 Conoga Street, Norfolk, VA 23523. Viewing will be held from 12-3pm Sunday at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home,500 Liberty Street, Chesapeake.
