Norfolk - Roy L. "Kilroy" Eborn, 62 of the 2900 block of Hollister Avenue passed away January 13, 2008 in his home. Born January 4, 1946, he attended Booker T. Washington High School, and was employed with the government for 23 years at Dam Neck as a painter, and later became an independent painter. He also had a love and passion for football, and coached for over 14 years. He was member of New Macedonia U.C.C.
He leaves to cherish his memory, a loving wife, Magdalene Eborn; three daughters, Pam Johnson (Anthony) of New York, NY, Jennifer Eborn and Helen Purvis of Norfolk; one son, Terry Nixon of Georgia; one sister, Georgia Williams of Norfolk; two brothers, James Eborn of Norfolk and Cleveland Goss of Marion, S.C. ; three stepchildren, , three grandchildren, one great grandson, a very special niece, Brenda Crenshaw (Donald), a special nephew, Tony Eborn, a host of other nieces, nephews, close family and friends.
A funeral service will be conducted noon Saturday at New Macedonia U.C.C., 1426 Marshall Avenue, Norfolk, with Pastor R. Harris and Elder A.D. Wright officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Viewing will be held from 2pm - 7pm Friday at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake.
