Virginia Beach - Rubie E. Driver, 76, of the 800 block of Antonick Lane departed this life June 13, 2007. Born in Louisburg, North Carolina, he was employed at the Naval Air Rework Facility for over 32 years until his retirement. He was a member of Morning Star Baptist Church, where he was the former chairman of the Trustee Board, and a member of the male choir.



He is predeceased by his son, Keith Driver. Survivors include his wife, Thelma K. Driver of Virginia Beach, daughter, Brenda Driver Stringfield (Jeff) of Virginia Beach,  stepdaughter, Sheila Lee (Robert) of Elizabeth City, N.C., stepson, Frederick Kearney (Sheila) of Virginia Beach, sister, Lillie D. Johnson of Portsmouth, brother, Booker T. Driver of Louisburg, N.C., seven grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.



A funeral service will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Morning Star Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Rosewood Memorial Park. Viewing will be held Friday from

2pm-7pm at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake.
