Ruby P. Godfrey was called home to eternal rest on May 18, 2015. She was born on September 13, 1937, in South Norfolk, Virginia, to the late Frank and Dora Perkins. Ruby graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Norfolk and later attended Cheyney University in Pennsylvania.

Ruby was predeceased by her parents Frank and Dora Perkin s; a sister, Rebecca Perkins; and brothers Frank Perkins, Russell Perkins, Zion Perkins, Harold Perkins, Eugene Perkins, Leon Perkins, and Charles Perkins. She is survived by her brothers, Rudolph Perkins (Juanita), Ralph Perkins (Linda), and Elmo Perkins (Brenda), a special nephew, Harold L. Perkins, Jr., and other nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2015, 12 noon, at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, 500 Liberty Street, Chesapeake, VA. Viewing will be from 5-7pm on Friday at the funeral home.
