Virginia Beach - We celebrate the life of Rudolph Valentino Gibbs, Sr., who departed his life early Monday morning, June 23, 2014 and is now in God's everlasting embrace. Rudolph was born December 28, 1929 to the late Caleb Gibbs and Ola Gibbs in Stonewall, NC.

Rudolph was predeceased by his son, Rudolph V. Gibbs, Jr.; his sister, Mildred B. Burnley; and his brother, Donald Gibbs. He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Reva; his children, Linda (Ronnie), Brenda (Cedric), James Curtis, Antonio (Vanessa), Twana, Hope, Felicia (Antoine), Cordelia (James), Phillip (Tina), Karl, and Christina; daughter-in-law, Tina Gibbs; sixteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; his sister, Evelyn Murphy, Gloria Jean Fisher, Karen Patricia Fisher; and a special nephew, Ricky Murphy; as well as a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Daddy we will forever hold you in our hearts.

A funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake. Interment will follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will be held from 1-5pm Thursday at the funeral home.
