Chesapeake - Ruth Rosa Jackson Cabarras Lynch went to be with the Lord, Friday, April 9, 2010. She was born December 30, 1916 to the late Emmett Jackson and Lizzie Harvell Jackson in Petersburg, VA.

She was predeceased by her brother, Anthony Jackson; a daughter, Ruth C. Durham; husbands, Willie F. Cabarras and Ernest Lynch, and 2 great grandchildren Janine and Janell Melson.

Sis. Ruth was a faithful member of St. Thomas AME Zion Church, Norfolk.

Her memory is cherished by 3 daughters; Thora C. Melson (Clyde), Earlene C. Esters (Arnette), and Jacqueline C. Cooper; 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.

A funeral will be held at noon Wednesday, April 14 at St. Thomas AME Zion Church, Norfolk, the Rev. Dr. Joseph E. Lamb Sr., pastor. Burial will follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, 500 Liberty Street, Chesapeake, from 6 to 7 p.m., on Tuesday, April 13, 2010.
