Portsmouth – Ruth Mae "Na-nu" Reid Vollin, 68, of Kennedy Drive, passed away peacefully May 8, 2009, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. Born December 25, 1940 to the late David and Ruth Reid, she was a member of Tabernacle Church of God In Christ.

Ruth was predeceased by her devoted husband of 45 years, Walter Eugene Vollin USN, Ret; sister, Margaret E. Bonner, and brother Oliver Reid Sr.

She leaves to cherish her memories, sons, Reginald Reid (Phyllis) of Portsmouth and Calvin Reid (Geraldine) of Suffolk; two grandsons, Reggie and Calvin, four great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. She also leaves a special person who was like a daughter to her, Jan.

A celebration of Ruth's life will be held 1:00 pm Thursday in the chapel of Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake with Pastor Mattie Jenkins officiating.
