Ruthie Alcinda Hill, affectionately  known as Cindy, was a devoted and caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She transitioned to her heavenly home on Saturday March 26, 2022, surrounded by her children at the tender age of 66.

Cindy was the first child born to Robert L. and Virginia E. Hill on September 19, 1955 in Courtland, VA. In her early years her family moved to Norfolk, VA , where she would spend her childhood, grow up, make many lifelong friends, and was educated by Norfolk Public School system. She worked for Tidewater Community College as a Custodial Supervisor and retired after being employed for over a decade. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Cindy. She loved spending time in the kitchen and creating delicious meals for her family. She adored hosting gatherings with her family for the holidays or just for any occasion. She also enjoyed gardening and sewing various items for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her vibrant and beautiful personality was contagious to everyone she encountered. Cindy's sassy attitude and bright smile will be missed by all.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her three wonderful children, Jevon, Meta (Julian), Sanisha (Christopher), four lovely grandchildren, JueTisha (Brandon), Julian (Trinity), Shayla and Nyla, two precious great-granddaughters,  Kyleigh and Nami, and  a brother Gary (Audrey)and three sisters Robin, Carmela (Van), and Kim, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

A homegoing service will be held 1pm Saturday, April 2, 2022 at Cathedral of Faith C.O.G.I.C., 2020 Portlock Road, Chesapeake, Virginia 23324. Interment will follow at Rosewood Memorial Park. Viewing will be Friday, April 1, 2022 from 5pm until 7pm at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake.
