Chesapeake – Sarah (Libby) Freeman, 93, passed away on June 19, 2011 in Sentara Nursing Center of Chesapeake where she has resided since 2009. Sarah was the daughter of the late Samuel and Emily Hardy and the widow of James Freeman.

She is survived by her daughters, Gloria Ferguson, Vivian Overby, Doris Davis, Jannetta Ford, Mary Turner, Lucille Scott and sons James Freeman, Jr., Clarence Freeman and Alvin Freeman, her brother Clarence Hardy (Dorothy) and many beloved grandchildren, great grandchildren and great –great grandchildren, as well as a host of relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at New Central Baptist Church located in the Berkley section of Norfolk. Burial will follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will be held Thursday from 3pm – 7pm at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake.
