Saundra G. Johnson born June 17, 1944 in Norfolk, Virginia went to be with the Lord on May 4, 2019. She is predeceased by her husband Alfred James Johnson, her father Emitt Gwaltney, and her mother Troy Gwaltney.

She was a member of Calvary Revival Church for many years and served as a member of the Security Ministry, Bookstore, Ladies With A Mission (LWAM) Telephone Follow-up, Nursing Home Ministry, and the Berkley/Campostella Caregroup.

She was retired from the Virginia Beach School System as an Office Manager.

She leaves to cherish her homecoming, two daughters Djuna Cherry and Stephanie Cherry, one granddaughter Jameliah Vaughan, one sister Ethel Clapp, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at Calvary Revival Church, 5755 Poplar Hall Drive, Norfolk, Virginia 23502. Viewing will be from 5pm until 7pm on Monday, May 13, 2019 at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake. Interment will be at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk.
