Seth S. McDonald, Sr., 97, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2017. Born on April 7, 1919 in Norfolk County, Virginia to the late Kenneth and Mary Jane McDonald. He is survived by his wife, Odessa McDonald; three sons; Alphonso McDonald (Joyce), Seth McDonald, Jr. (Valerie), and Rev. Kelvin McDonald, Sr. (Brenda); two daughters, Maidie Edison (Wilburt), and Erma Stokely (Alan), one brother, Francis McDonald, one sister, Tama Johnson, grandchildren, great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 18,2017 at Lee's Chapel AME Church,1036 Bells Mill Rd, Chesapeake, where viewing will be from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. the day of the service. Interment will follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will be held from 4-7pm Friday, February 17, 2017 at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home.
