IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Shelvin Dontae
Alston
July 31, 1989 – May 30, 2020
On Saturday May 30, 2020, the Lord called Shelvin Dontae Alston to eternal rest. Shelvin was born on July 31, 1989, in Norfolk, Virginia to Michael D. and Sabrita Alston. He resided in Norfolk, Virginia. Shelvin was predeceased by his grandmother, Lillie Sloan, and his uncle Terry Linyear.
Shelvin was a happy, humorous, and energetic person. He was always joking and kept everyone laughing. Shelvin's love and devotion to his two daughters was exemplified in the relationship he shared with them. His girls loved him to the moon and back. He was always shopping for them, and there was nothing he wouldn't do for them.
He started his own moving company, Compact Moving. He was very professional when it came down to his business and treated his customers with the upmost respect. His uniforms were always fresh and clean. Shelvin was good at everything he put his mind to do.
Shelvin's love for his music was phenomenal. He could be heard around the house rapping (or we might say flowing) and writing lyrics. His love for music and his girls was the drive that kept him striving for excellence in his business.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving mother Sabrita Alston of Norfolk, VA; father Michael Alston(Natasha) of Virginia Beach, VA; two daughters Aaleeah, and Aalyric Alston of Chesapeake, VA; two sisters Shanita Clements (Montei) of Norfolk, VA, and Shayvonda Johnson of Chesapeake, VA; three brothers Michael II, Myles, and Kyle Alston of Virginia Beach, VA; grandparents Archie, Sr., and Mary Alston of Palmer Park, Maryland; mother of his children Crasinda Johnson of Chesapeake, VA, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Viewing will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m., Monday, June 8, 2020, at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake, where the funeral service will be private.
