Chesapeake – Simon D. Webster, 87, went home to be with the Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 11, 2010, surrounded by his love ones. He was born on April 8, 1923 in Princess Anne County, Virginia to the late Joseph and Mary Webster. During World War II he enlisted in the United States Navy for several years and was honorably discharged. He retired after 36 years of service at the Norfolk Naval Supply Center, and drove as a bus driver for about 14 years for Gallop Bus Service and 8 years for Norfolk Collegiate School. Simon Webster was a devoted member of the New Mt. Zion Church of God Holiness, where he loved serving the Lord.
He is predeceased by his daughter, Regina I. Jackson and leaves to cherish his memories, hi s faithful and loving wife, Mildred D. Webster and a sister Pearl Person; four daughters, Vernell Webster, Vernett Webster, Sheila Webster and Phyllis Webster; 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, saints and friends.
A home going celebration will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at New Mt. Zion Church of God Holiness,1042 Philpotts Road, Norfolk. Interment will follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park.
