Chesapeake - Simone Yvette Small, 45, of the 2900 block of Aaron Drive went home to be with the Lord July 2, 2007. Born in New York City, she was a member of Bridge Street A.M.E. Church, and was formerly employed as a Case Worker Supervisor with the New York Department of Social Services for 16 years. She received her BS Degree in Criminal Justice from Mercy College in Westchester, New York, and was working on a Master's Degree in Criminal Justice from John Jay College of criminal justice.
She is survived by her daughter, Treasure Marie Small of Brooklyn, New York, parents, William C. Small and Dorothy M. Small of Chesapeake, twin brother, Jeffery H. Small, sisters, Jacqueline Holder and Janice Duncan of Mount Vernon, NY, three uncles, nine aunts, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral service will be held noon Friday at St. John's African Methodist Episcopal Church. Interment will follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will be held Thursday from 2pm - 7pm at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake.
