Weep not for me, but be content, I was not yours, but only lent. Wipe off those tears and weep no more. I am at rest to suffer no more.

Our loved one, Thomas "Frankie" "Frank" McCoy, Jr., as he was affectionately called, departed this life on April 15, 2022, while in the hospital, surrounded by family. He was born in Norfolk, Virginia on March 28, 1958, to Rev. Undine and the late J.T. Franklin McCoy. He was educated in Chesapeake and Virginia Beach Public Schools. He also served in the U.S. Army and was a member of Gordon Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church.

He is survived by his wife, Rev. Marie McCoy; a brother, Darren McCoy (Juanita); a sister, Sonya Artis (Reuben); two daughters, Natasha Jackson (Luke), and Christy Gatlin; and a son, Thomas McCoy, III; grandchildren, Isaiah Robertson, Demario Lush, Amir Gatlin, Zahir Gatlin, Gabriel Jackson, Caleb Jackson, and Nevaeh McCoy; his mother, Rev. Undine McCoy; an aunt, Shirley Lyon; sisters-in-law, L.F. Wilkes, Alberta Curtis Minters, Sonni Benn (Cody), Juanita Harris, Mary Brown (James), and Katie Wilkes; and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.

He was loving and helpful to all who knew him, and jumped at the chance to "pull wire" as an electrician. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, 500 Liberty Street, Chesapeake. Viewing will be held on Friday, April 29, 2022 from 5pm until  7pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk.
