Van Eric Warren, Sr., was a devoted and caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He transitioned to his heavenly home on Tuesday, June 7,2022, surrounded by his wife, children and grandchildren at the  age of 69.

Van was the third born child to  the late John Sr and Lelia Warren on July 9, 1952 in Norfolk, VA. In his early years he lived in Oakleaf Park, Diggs Park and Ghent. He attended Norfolk Public School and attain his GED in Job Core. Van loved to sing, cook and strip and wax floors. He worked at Bennigan's, Central Amusement, Southern Amusement, ODU, and Kempsville Prysterian Chuch were he retired from after being there for 15 years.
Van never bit his tongue, he would tell you off and love you at the same time. He loved his wife,children and especially his grandchildren they were the apple of his eyes. He will be missed by those who loved him.

He was predeceased by his son Van Jr, brothers John Jr and Nathaniel,  sisters Deborah Fordham,  and Annette Warren. His in-laws Robert and Virginia Hill and Ruthie Hill.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Carmela Hill-Warren, son Vance Hill Sr(Donchell), daughters Vanita Warren, Donita Warren, Shayla Johnson(Isaac) and Kiara Hill-Warren. Ten grandsons Taizjon,Taishaun, Daishaun, Isaac Jr, Kei'Montae, Vance Jr, De Shaun, Willie Jr, TyShaun and Jahsae. Twelve granddaughters Shyerica, Destini, Iyana, Latina, Iceis, Kei'mayah, Kei'Mari, Desirea, Kei'Manni, Joynea,Vanasia and Columbia. Four brothers Barry, Gerald, Steve and Keith Warren, Five sisters Linda Mabrey,  Bernadine Wilson,  Marsh Cradle, Jeanette Warren and Vera Jackson. Brother in-law Garry Hill(Audrey) sister in-laws Robin Johnson and Kim Hill Special nieces Lisa Fordham, Donetta Cradle, Charlene Crew, Meta Eley(Julian), Sanisha Leary(Christopher), and Kecia Wilson. God children Charlene Ames, Jue'Tisha Eley-Rogers(Brandon),Julian Eley Jr(Trinity). Last but not least his girlfriend Marva Austin the love of his life.

I would like to give a shout out  to Garisha Hill for being there at the end of his journey.  Stepping in and bathing him making him as comfortable as possible during his final transition.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesaepake. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Norfolk. Viewing will be held from 5pm until 7pm Monday, June 13, 2022 at the funeral home.
