God saw the road was getting rough and the hills were hard to climb, so, He gently closed her loving eyes and whispered, "peace be thine." The weary hours, the days of pain, the sleepless nights are past. Her ever patient worn out frame has found sweet rest at last.

On Saturday, April 6, 2019, Vedes V. Clark our beloved Mother, Sister, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt and friend departed this life at home.

She was born on September 12, 1929 in Norfolk, Virginia to the late Arnold and Zular Banks. Vedes, as she was affectionately called, was married to the late Willie Clark. She retired from Sentara Leigh Hospital in house keeping with 18 years of dedicated service. One of her favorite joys was cooking, and boy could she cook and wanted everyone to eat and enjoy her meals. No one was a stranger to her. She was admired and respected by all. The thoughtfulness and joy on her face will never be forgotten. Vedes invited everyone to her home and her heart. She never minced with words. If she liked how you looked or did not like how you looked, she would tell you. She will be dearly missed.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Gerald/Lilly Savage, Patricia/Charles Grier , Gaynell Fountain and Henry Savage (deceased), grandchildren Chris, Crystal, Stephanie, Serena, Jerome, Charlene, Patrina, Lisha and Kimberly. A host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. A dear sister Clote O'Neal and seven deceased siblings.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 681 Oak Grove Road, Chesapeake, Virginia 23320.
