Norfolk - Vernon Battle, 86, of the 1400 block of Arbor Drive departed this life November 2, 2007. Born in Portsmouth, he was a member of First Pentecostal United Holy Church, and the widower of Mrs. Palice Battle.



Two daughters survive him, Diane Linnette (Elmo) of Norfolk and Maxine Edmonds (Alton) of Richmond, four grandchildren, and five great grandchildren, a host of relatives and friends.



A funeral service will be held 1:00 pm. Wednesday at First Pentecostal United Holy Church. Interment will follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will held 2pm - 7pm Tuesday at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake, where the family will meet and greet friends from 6pm-7pm.
