Chesapeake – Vernon E. Bell Sr., 77, of the 1000 block of Alexander Lane departed this life on April 2, 2014.

Born in Norfolk County, he was a lifetime member of Lee's Chapel AME Church where he served as a Trustee.

He was predeceased by his wife, Alice Mae Bell. Survivors include three daughters, three sons, two sisters, four brothers, thirteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren, one aunt and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Lee's Chapel AME Church. Interment will follow at Etheridge Cemetery. Viewing will be 3-7pm Friday at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake. Condolences can be offered to the family at www.pretlowandsons.com.
