On January 30, 2015 at 9:00 p.m. in Sentara Leigh Hospital the life of Veronica Louise Hinton (Ronnie) ended and is on to new heights. Veronica grew up in Norfolk and graduated from Maury High School. After high school she spent 15 years at Sentara as an administrative assistant. She went on to work an additional 25 years in the Army Reserve as a Supply Sergeant and a Human Resource Specialist. After retiring from the military, she worked 3 years as a Human Resource Specialist at the Military Sealift Command.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Carrie L. Hinton, father, Troy C. Hinton, grandmother, Viola B. Jackson, and sister, Charlotte Hinton. She is survived by her son, Jamal Hinton, a brother, Clifton Hinton, a nephew, DeShaun Hinton, and two grandchildren, Jamal Davis and Ja'Kay Hinton. She is also survived by her best supporting and mutual friends, Robin Goodwin, Glen Allen, Kat Bowman, and Jene Wren, and a host of cousins and friends. Veronica will be loved and missed by everyone that was close to her and who knew her. She was the definition of an angel on earth.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake. Interment will follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will be held Friday from 4-8pm at the funeral home. Condolences can be offered to the family at www.pretlowandsons.com.
