Obituary

Victor Anthony Rodman, fondly known as "Barbaros" was born to the late James T. Rodman and Delilah Green-Rodman in New York's Harlem Hospital. He was the only son of four children.
He graduated from Murry Bergtraum High School, NY in 1979. He excelled in several occupations including being a sterilization technician for Sentara Hospital Systems before eventually becoming a master electrician and entrepreneur.

Victor was the loving father of three sons. With Margaret Jones, he had his first born, Victor, Jr. He then moved to Virginia and married Bernadette King-Rodman and from this union he had Jamel and Darius.

Victor was an excellent baseball player in his youth. His teammates nicknamed him "Slick Vic" because of his arsenal of near unhittable pitches.
He was well loved by everyone who knew him. He would never hesitate to help anyone in need. His outgoing personality, thoughtfulness, and great sense of humor made him a joy to be around. His friends and family knew him as music lover and a talented chef. He was a devoted husband and affectionate father. Even over the past ten years as his health took him in and out of the hospital, he was dedicated to doing the best he could to provide for his family.

Victor leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Delilah Rodman; wife, Bernadette King-Rodman; 3 sons, Victor Jones (Kaori), Jamel King-Rodman, and Darius King-Rodman, as well as a grandson, Victor III. He also leaves 3 sisters, Valerie Rodman (Eugene Wilson), Cynthia Rodman, and Patty Tyler (Cedric) and two sisters-in-law, Darlene King-Shaw (James) and Tracey King. Victor also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

We leave him to rest in peace in heaven after giving us joy here on earth.

A service celebrating his life will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake.
