Virgie retired as a dedicated Civil Servant from Naval Medical Center Portsmouth in Portsmouth, Virginia. She found joy in caring for her beloved dog, Chip, and was a devoted fan of her favorite football team, the Dallas Cowboys. She was actively involved in her church, faithfully serving on the Usher Board, the Women's Missionary Ministry, and as a Deacon.

Virgie attended Norfolk Public Schools and was a proud 1971 graduate of Booker T. Washington High School, where she was a majorette in the marching band.

She was a devoted mother to her Late Daughter Tiffani Springs, and a loving grandmother to Christian and Courtney Springs. Virgie will be remembered for her kindness, strength, unwavering faith, and deep love for her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Jacqueline Hill, and her daughter, Tiffani Springs.

She leaves to cherish and honor her precious memory: her beloved grandchildren, Christian and Courtney Springs; a very special son-in-law, Lawrence Springs; three sisters, Cornelia Watson, Angela Smith, and June Hill; two nieces, Candace Sparrow-Powers and Calah Sparrow; a very special niece, Tara Hill; two nephews, Melvin Smith Jr. and Neil Dozier; three great-nieces, Brittani, Kierra, and Ashlee; five great-great-nieces; four great-great-nephews; and a host of loving family members and dear friends.
