Vonda was born in Chesapeake, Virginia on July 8, 1949. She was the daughter of Alice Roundtree-Bronson of Quague, New York. Vonda was educated in Chesapeake, Virginia. At the age of 17, she moved to Brooklyn, New York. As a residenct of New York City, she was employed as a caregiver for emergency children with the department of social service. Her love and compassion for helping people, was a large portion of what she enjoy doing. Vonda worked as a bus driver in Norfolk , Virginia and she worked several years for NorShipco. She returned to Virginia to be near family and friends. Vonda was married to the late Jimmy Braswell. She leaves to cherish her memory; three sons, Darrell from Kingston, New York, Charles from Brooklyn, New York, and Jermy from Virginia Beach, Virginia; mother, Alice Roundtree Bronson; sisters, Phyllis Pringle of Atlanta, Georgia, Faye Tucker of Uniondale, New York; brothers, Timothy Tucker of Uniondale, New York and Darryl Bronson of Quague, New York; an extra ordinary close brother, Stanley Pittman of Norfolk, Virginia, was a "Warrior", never left her side during her illness; a special friend during her illness never left her side, Frank Johnson of Chesapeake, Virginia, a "Great Warrior;"a thoughtful aunt that she kept in touch with and she kept in touch with her, Aunt June Fields of Chesapeake, Virginia; Pastor Ronald Johnson and Sis. Rosezine Johnson, in time of comfort and compassion, Vonda said this is the the"Real Church" they were a blessing to her.A funeral service will be held 12:00 pm Wednesday at United Mission Holiness Church,  408 South Main Street, Norfolk. Viewing will be held 3pm - 7pm at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake.
