Norfolk - Wayne Maurice Jones, Sr., of the 2400 block of East Virginia Beach Blvd. was called home to be with the Lord, Monday, May 7, 2007. Born in South Norfolk, he was employed with American Trucking Association for over 20 years until his retirement. He was a member of St. Thomas A.M.E. Zion Church, where he was member of the choir, and active in Sunday School and Bible Study.



He is predeceased by his parents, Frank and Vida Jones, his sister, Ann E. Wallace, and his brothers, Frank R. Jones, Jr., and Milton D. Jones. Survivors include his daughter, Denise Allston of Maryland, son, Pastor Wayne Maurice Jones, Jr. (Victoria) of Memphis, Tennessee; a sister, Jean L. Respass and husband, Pastor Willie M. Respass of Portsmouth; a brother, Kenneth S. Jones of Norfolk; seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, one aunt, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.



A funeral service will be held Friday at noon at St. Thomas A.M.E. Zion Church. Interment will follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will be Thursday from 2pm ? 7pm at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake.
